Having graduated from Coventry University in 1992, Claire worked In London for three years, before moving to Boston, USA for two years. Whilst there, Claire ran the musculoskeletal physiotherapy department at the New England Medical Centre in the centre of Boston.
When she returned to England, Claire then studied with the Australian Pilates and Physiotherapy Institute and achieved her Matwork 1 & 2 Pilates qualifications, and Pilates class teacher qualifications. She is also qualified in Antenatal/postnatal Pilates and has taught a regular Pilates class in Ilkley for the last 18 years. Claire combines her physiotherapy and Pilates skills and is very experienced at prescribing stability and mobility exercises tailored to your injury. Claire has a special interest in treating women with pregnancy related pelvic girdle pain (PGP) as well as caring for clients with other women’s health issues and is listed on the pelvic partnership website. Claire has done numerous courses and is able to combine her knowledge of spinal alignment work, how the body changes during pregnancy, with specific strength work.
Since working in the clinic, Claire has taken a number of courses including muscle energy techniques for the lumbar spine and pelvis, thoracic spine and ribs, and the diagnosis of rib ring dysfunction with LJ Lee. She has done a course with Stuart McGill on ‘Building the Ultimate Back’ and more recently a course on cranial treatment with Doreen Killens. She has also attended many of the courses run by the clinic over the last 18 years on movement patterning skills, complex injuries, chronic pain and visceral treatment.
Outside the clinic Claire is a keen runner and has competed in the Great North run and the Leeds, Brighton and Ilkley half marathons and many other local races which helps her to understand the training and competition needs of the athlete. Claire also enjoys skiing and walking on the moor with her dogs.

"Amazing physios! I started coming here when they were located in Leeds Met. Now moved out to a new building by the Village gym/hotel. Every physio I have seen has been nothing short of amazing.....very knowledgeable and always seem to fix the problem!"

"Rose came highly recommended to me from a sports therapist who was also a high level athlete. She clearly cares about getting her patients back to full health ASAP. She kindly reviewed a list of my injuries prior to booking anything with her so she could appropriately advise on who i should see. From my brief conversation with her i could tell she cared and had extensive knowledge about biomechanics and getting to the root cause of the problem."
Drew Norcup
"I was attended to by Louisa who was great . She was very thorough and methodical in getting to the root of my problem and gave me effective treatment. At the end of my treatment I was given a plan to follow. There was no pressure to book a follow up appointment either.
I would definitely recommend to anyone contemplating going. My only regret is that I did not go earlier."
James Ahmad
