Vanessa qualified in 2003 and started her career in physiotherapy working for the NHS in Hull, East Yorkshire covering a vast array of rotations in a variety of settings. Vanessa specialised more in the MSK setting from 2006 and extended her work to the Spire private hospital group working with elective orthopaedic conditions post operative.
In 2009 Vanessa went to Germany to work with the British Forces and spent over 2 years working with the army and their dependents. 15 months of this was spent working in the musculoskeletal setting on a 1:1 basis alongside exercise rehabilitation instructors, physical training instructors and medical personnel.
Vanessa worked with her Netball team in Germany as their Physio, regularly treating ankle sprains, knee injuries and shoulder problems. As a military Physio she also regularly treated patients’ who had sustained football, rugby, hockey, skiing and volleyball related injuries to name a few.
Vanessa has always loved teaching and finds the educational aspect of her job really rewarding. It goes without saying that she enjoys helping people with their pain and symptoms and assisting them on the road to recovery. ‘Seeing patients’ return to what they love doing makes my job very worthwhile.’
Vanessa enjoys the challenge of getting someone better and the whole process of assessing, constantly re-evaluating and working together to reach the end goal.
Vanessa has done a lot of traveling over the past several years and loves exploring new places.
Having grown up in Yorkshire Vanessa particularly loves walking through the hills of the Yorkshire Dales and plans to make the most of these now she is living more locally. She also thoroughly enjoys Netball and is keen to get into this in the UK as well as pick up my love of Tennis.
